Congratulations to Laura Mandell! This amazing woman was recently named the March 2015 Sustainability Hero by Sustainable Jersey. In 2010, Laura started the Warren Township Green Team and has served as the chair even since. The Warren Township Green Team is comprised of volunteers who work to serve as a resource for Warren residents regarding sustainable practice. They also work to create programs that emphasize conservation and environmental management.

Laura is also the chair of the Warren Environmental Commission, and is involved in many other endeavors that make our community a wonderful place to live in! Her well-deserved award and passion for the environment and our town are great reminders for all of us—every little bit counts, and we can all do our part in taking care of the environment. (Read more about Laura's accomplishments and roles here.)

Need some ideas for getting started in your eco-friendly spring cleaning endeavors? Here are a couple of recycling events that Warren offers its residents:

  • Going Green

Warren's eco-friendly Green Fair is this week! On April 25, 2015, from 10am to 1pm, bring your hard-to-dispose-of items, from electronics to scrap metal. They're also accepting donations that can be reused from craft supplies to cell phones. Learn more about the event and check out the long list for yourself here. Plus, there will even be demonstrations on how to conserve, lots of information available, and free tree seedlings!

  • Warren Mini Dump

Every Saturday from May 2nd, 2015 to September 26, 2015 from 9am to 1pm, a Mini Dump event will be held at the Public Works Garage (at 1 Bardy Road). Warren residents can bring things like used furniture, appliances and other miscellaneous items to be disposed of. This does not include recyclable items like plastic, glass, newspaper, etc. (View a complete list here.)

  • Hire a Professional Organizer

Maybe you need a supportive nudge to decide what to throw away, recycle, donate or keep! Hiring a professional organizer and home clean-out service may be just what you need. They also arrange the donation pickups and get the junk out immediately. This is a great first step! I have a few great resources I can recommend. Just give us a call 908-287-1269!
