Have you thought about what you're going to do this weekend? If you haven't, there's still plenty of time to plan! 

Check out these 10 things you can do in Central New Jersey:

1. NJ Audubon: Digital Photography Workshop 5: Digital Editing 2

Where: Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ 07924

When: Jan 14 at 10:00 am 

Fee: $12 members; $25 non-members

Heads up, shutterbugs. The 5th Photography Workshop led by Dave DesRochers, Phil Witt Associate Naturalists, and Jack Moskowitz will be continuing this weekend. The emphasis this week is on digital editing principles so be sure to bring your photos on a flash drive for demonstrations on editing techniques.

2. NJ Audubon: Antarctica

Where: Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ 07924

When: Jan 14 at 2:00 pm 

Fee: Free for members; $5 non-members

Explore the beautifully mysterious Antartica this weekend and head down to the Falkland Islands and the South Georgia Island. Spend an afternoon with Becky and  Phil Witt, NJ Audubon Associate Naturalists as they present a travelogue of breathtaking photographs and footage capturing this mysterious region of our planet. 3. The Confident Teen: Tools to Help Your Teen Believe In Herself

Where: Reeves-Reed Arboretum, 165 Hobart Ave., Summit, NJ 07901

When: Jan 14 at 9:00 am

Empower the young lady in your life! During this 2 1/2-hour session, she will learn how to stop over-thinking and how to make confident sound choices. This is a class you wouldn't want your daughters or nieces to miss. Set them up for a better foundation of themselves today and sign them up for Master Life Coach, Deborah Munies session this weekend.

4. Let's Get Growing: All About Square Foot Gardening 

Where: Reeves-Reed Arboretum, 165 Hobart Ave., Summit, NJ 07901

When: Jan 14, 2017 at 9:30 am 

Fee: Members: $10,  Non-Members:  $25

Teach your kids to learn how to grow veggies, herbs, and edible flowers, and get them started young! Green thumb not required... because they'll teach you all the neat tricks and steps to grow a flourishing square-foot garden at this neat workshop.

5. STEM Saturdays

Get ready for some hands-on learning this weekend! Participants can enjoy a day of exploring interesting things related to science, technology, engineering, and math. The cool demonstrations will be sure to keep you and your young one engaged and inspired!

6. Summit Community Blood Drive

Where: St. John's Lutheran Church, 587 Springfield Avenue, Summit, NJ 07901

Do your good bit this weekend and donate! Not only do blood donations help to save lives, but the first 40 donors to come in will get a Chick-A-Fil sandwich coupon.

7. Saturday Morning Dog Walks at Lord Stirling Stable

When: Jan 14 at 10:15 am 

Where: Lord Stirling Stable, 256 South Maple Avenue Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. 

Fee: $5.00

Take a breather from the bustle of the week and take your leashed furry pal on a leisurely walk at Lord Stirling's Stable. Breathe in the fresh, crisp air as you enjoy a good stretch and enjoy the rolling scenery that will surely refresh your mind, body, and spirit. Don't forget to leash your buddy and keep close for warmth. Bundle up!

8. Mommy and Me Preschool

Fee: $170 - members, $ 255 - community members

Give your tiny tot a great opportunity to network with other little tots and get them ready for school! Your tiny gems will enjoy story-telling time, circle time, supervised play time and more. Be sure to pack them a light, peanut-free snack for the activity.

10. Monthly Guided Hikes at the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary

Where: 324 Forest Drive South Short Hills, NJ 07078

When: January 15

Time: departs at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm

 Suggested donation:  $5.00/member, $10.00/non-member.  

Get your hiking boots ready and join Cora's Conservation Corps teen volunteers as they guide you through the woods at Cora Hartshorn Arboretum.  Don't forget to bring water as the hike is about 45 minutes long. Take the opportunity to find out how to be a Citizen Scientist at the CHA. Registration available at
