Cheers to 2017! 

What are your 2017 New Year's Resolutions? If they were along the lines of exercising, getting outside, exploring new cultures, enjoying your community, and helping others.... then you're in luck! This week's weekend guide is packed with a wide variety of things to see and do.

1. NJ Audubon: Nature Infused Yoga 

When: Jan 7 at 9:30 am

Where: Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, 11 Hardscrabble Road Bernardsville, NJ 07924

Fee: $15 for non-members and $10 for members

Take a zen break and reconnect with your inner self! Start the day right with Kristin Mylecraine, Yoga Teacher and NJ Audubon Senior Research Scientist and like-minded individuals for a tranquil 75-minute yoga session.

2. Saturday Morning Dog Walks at Lord Stirling Stable 

When: Jan 7 at 10:15 am 

Where: Lord Stirling Stable, 256 South Maple Avenue Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. 

Fee: $5.00

Enjoy an hour-long walk with your leashed furry pal and breathe in the crisp, fresh air over at the gently rolling slopes of Lord Stirling Stable. Nothing beats a morning stretch out and brisk walk to start your heart pumping!

3. YMCA State Wide Get-Healthy Campaign

When: January 7

Where: Your Local Y (click link below for details) 

In conjunction with your resolution to get healthier this year, your local YMCA will be holding fitness workshops to promote better health awareness and build a stronger sense of community. Visit your local Y to get more details.

4. Mommy and Me Preschool

When: Jan 7, 2017, at 9:00 am

Where: Summit YMCA, 67 Maple Street, Summit, NJ 07091

Fee: $170 - members, $ 255 - community members

Ready your little one for school and allow them to experience this in an environment where they are already familiar and comfortable. There will be circle time, storytelling, movement, free play and educational and nurturing interactions.

5. "CHRISTMAS HOUSE" fundraiser for NJ Institute for Disabilities

When: Jan 7, 2017, at 4:30 pm

Where:  83 Paterson Road, Fanwood, NJ 07023

It isn't too late to take one last glimpse of the Christmas House display over at Paterson in Fanwood. This'll be your last chance to catch the amazing display of Christmas cheer of the Rosen's to carry with you throughout the year! Your donations will go to the NJ National Institute for Disabilities.

6. Photographs by Jean Merrill - The Female Face

When: January 8, 2-4 pm

Where: Bernardsville Public Library

Explore a different culture and come see the work of Jean Merrill featuring the many faces of a woman. Get a little closer to the artist for a meet and greet on Sunday. Her exhibit will be on display at the library for the whole month of January.

7. Dance Your Heart Out at Laura's Dance Studio

When: Saturday afternoons

Where: 618 Springfield Avenue, Berkeley Heights NJ 07922

At a loss for party themes? Want to catch up with your friends and share an activity? Laura's Dance Studio opens its doors to private parties each Saturday. You and your friends can take a dance class and make a party of it! In line with making resolutions and working toward self-improvement, why not have fun and get fit at the same time? Dust off your dancing shoes, grab yourself some gear and shimmy your way on to Laura's.
