Cheers to another weekend! Check out the best spots to celebrate and enjoy the wonderful weekend. Here are the upcoming happenings and events that we came across in Central New Jersey!

1. Scotch Plains Farmers Market

When: Nov 12, 2016 from 8:00am - 2:00pm

Where: 430 Park Avenue, Scotch Plains, New Jersey 07076

If you are looking for freshly grown local produce, delicious handmade baked goods, and gourmet-style food products, then look no further! Scotch Plains open-air market happens to be celebrating its 24th Year and as this event is nearing its end, the promise to be one of the best in the area still stands.

2. Holiday Bazaar

When:  November 12th, 9am to 4pm

Where: 123 Summit Ave. (corner of Lackawanna Blvd.) Gillette, NJ 07933

Take your pick from more than 50 baskets available at the Gift Basket Silent Auction! Also shop for homemade crafts, browse the flea market, pick up a bite to eat, and more. From 9am to 11am, coffee and baked goods will be available while there's homemade soup, chili, hot dogs and more at 11am to 2pm.

3. Advanced Horse Care Workshops at Lord Stirling Stable

When: Nov 12, 2016 at Workshop 102 10:00am to 12:00, Workshop 103 will meet from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Where:  Lord Stirling Stable, 256 South Maple Avenue Basking Ridge, NJ 07920

This event is designed for those who want to know more about horses through various activities. Classes were scheduled for 5 consecutive Saturdays, with two more sessions left ending on November 19. Workshop 101 is a pre-requisite if you want to take Workshop 102 and 102 is pre-requisite for 103.

4. Saturday Morning Dog Walks at Lord Stirling Stable

When: Nov 12, 2016 at 10:15am, $3 per dog

Where: Lord Stirling Stable, 256 South Maple Avenue Basking Ridge, NJ 07920

It's hangout time for our pooches! All pets must be leashed and kept under control at all times. An hour guided trail walk is something your furbabies are definitely looking forward to. Note that this event is the only opportunity to explore the beautiful trails of Lord Stirling Stable on foot, so if you're up for some rare adventure yourself, then this is something you'll enjoy too.

5. Family Challenge - Get in the Game!

Where: Summit YMCA, 67 Maple St Summit, NJ 07901

For those who are able to register for the event, families with kids ages 3+ will compete against each other on a scavenger hunt. Various family activities are available including a pizza party and lots of prizes!

6. Thanksgiving Walk Around

When: November 12 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Where:  Pluckemin Inn,  359 Route 206 South & Pluckemin Way 
Bedminster, NJ 07921 United States

Enjoy a portion of your fabulous day wine tasting at the Pluckemin Inn at $30 per person plus tax. Featuring the Fantastic 2015 German vintage, champagne, dozens of wines to satisfy your cravings, top it off with delectable hors d’oeuvres. The Plucky Tavern will open right after the event at 4:00 pm. Get the wines at retail prices and guests will receive a $25 credit when they purchase $250 or more of wine!

7. Guided Hikes at the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum

WhenNovember 13th, 2016, 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm

Where: Cora Hartshorn Arboretum, 324 Forest Dr. S., Short Hills, NJ 07078

It's a nature trip so choose your clothes wisely. Cora Hartshorn Arboretum is a historic woodlands garden and an educational institution. These guided hikes offer an exciting way of learning about hibernation. This Sunday, spend your day with Arboretum’s Teen Volunteers.

 8. Open House at The Academy

Where: The Academy of Our Lady of Peace, 99 South Street New Providence, NJ 07974

The Academy is a Catholic elementary school that implements S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) initiatives throughout the curriculum and encourages the use of technology to enhance the learning process of the students. The academy is serving students from PreK-3 through the eighth grade and offers more than just a great academic learning experience. Visit the Academy and see for yourself the innovative curriculum they have prepared!

9. Amazing Maize - A Tribute to Corn

Where: Miller-Cory House Museum, 614 Mountain Avenue Westfield,NJ 07090

The Miller-Cory House Museum's program "Amazing Maize - A Tribute to Corn" showcases the many uses of corn from food that caters to both humans and animals to industrial products. The event itself features many activities for all ages such as crafts, storytelling, cooking, the Lenape Native Americans’ corn harvest ceremony and a display of early American corn-related artifacts

10. Greyhound Friends of NJ 20th Annual PET & CRAFT EXPO - Westfield Armory, Nov. 12 & 13

When:  Nov 12, 2016 at 10:00am -4 pm

Where: Westfield Armory, 500 Rahway Ave Westfield, NJ 07090

The Greyhound Friends of New Jersey’s (GFNJ) 20th Annual Pet & Craft Expo largest fundraiser of the year is back! Admission is $6 and a $1 discount coupon is available online. The expo features over 50 local vendors offering various items, a huge basket raffle, Blessing of the Animals and Blessing of the Volunteers by Chaplain Matty of the Monmouth County SPCA, nail clipping, bake sale, a coloring contest for the kids, and beautiful adoptable dogs for pre-approved applicants.
