To the book lovers and the bookworms, this is your chance to score good deals on books. Don't miss the Saturday Book Sale at the Library for a great selection of hardcover and paperback books. Proceeds of the book sale will benefit the library.

2. nature infused yoga

When: Saturday, February 16 at 9:30AM

Where: NJ Audubon Scherman-Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, 11 Hardscrabble Road Bernardsville . 07924 

Take part in meditative yoga while enjoying the great outdoors at this nature-infused yoga at the Scherman-Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary. Refresh your mind and spirit in this one hour yoga led by Kristin Mylecraine. Be sure to arrive 10 minutes early and bring a yoga mat.

4. NJ AUDUBON: the great backyard bird count

When: Saturday, February 16 at 10AM

Where: Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary, 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville 07924 

If bird watching is your thing, this is definitely a great way to spend your weekend. Join the Great Backyard Bird Count, a global citizen science program at the Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary for counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations. Anyone can take part in the Great Backyard Bird Count, from beginning bird watchers to experts. Participants will be counting the birds that will flock the bird feeding station and record the data.

5. maple sugaring weekends at the eec

When: February 16 - 17 at 10AM (recurs every weekend until March 10)

Where: Environmental Education Center, 190 Lord Stirling Road, Basking Ridge 07920 

Maple sugaring, a tradition that started centuries ago in the Northeast by the Native Americans and colonists is brought to life at the Environmental Education Center (EEC). People are invited to take part and join as you will see how trees are tapped, view sap-collecting methods past and present, and see the boiling process that produces delicious New Jersey maple syrup.

6. trumpets, weird and wonderful: treasures from the national music museum

When: Daily until March 17, 2019

Where: Morris Museum, 6 Normandy Heights Road, Morristown 07960

Trumpet-like musical instruments appear across time and cultures in surprising shapes, sizes, and features. By special arrangement with the National Music Museum, America’s preeminent collection of historic musical instruments, this exhibit of more than forty musical instruments, including audio and video demonstrations, will delight young and old, student and connoisseur.

8. remembering lincoln

When: February 17 - 18 at 1PM

Where: Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, 45 Macculloch Avenue, Morristown 07960

Indulge in a bit of history as you follow Lincoln’s dangerous 1861 train journey to his inauguration in Washington, D.C. using a floor map and “travel cards” marking his stops. Get creative and make an illustrated booklet with famous Lincoln quotes to take home.

Learn something new this weekend or enhance your skills as NJ Audubon associate naturalists David DesRochers and Jack Moskowitz discuss "Creating Art with Your Camera" and "Beyond the Snapshot" in this Photography Workshop at the Reeves-Reed Arboretum.

10. murder mystery and dinner benefit for the giving network

When: Saturday, February 16 at 7PM

Where: Soriano's at Parkside, 141 Old York Road, Bridgewater 08807

The Giving Network Gala an organization that has been providing Somerset County residents with needed furniture, household items, and food for 20 years is inviting you to a fun dinner event. This year, attempt to solve a murder staged by the Murder Mystery Company, with the theme "Totally 80s! Totally Murder!" as you enjoy a fun dinner gala.
